ROAR = Responsible, Only Kind, Always Safe, Respectful
Dear Families,
October brings important opportunities to strengthen our school community through kindness and respect. This month, we are focusing on bully prevention, reminding students that their words and actions have the power to lift others up and create a safe, welcoming environment for all. We are also celebrating Red Ribbon Week, encouraging healthy choices and positive lifestyles. Together, these themes help us empower students to stand strong, make good decisions, and look out for one another. Thank you for partnering with us to help every child feel safe, valued, and supported at school.
With gratitude,
-Jenna Louderback, principal

Parents,
If you have a student with dietary restrictions from food allergies or intolerances, who would like to purchase school lunches, consider filling out this form: Food Allergy Plan of Care. When you return it to me, I will send it to our food services coordinator, Michelle Dombach. She will review the form, then reach out to you to personalize a menu for your child. While it does require a physician’s signature, it’s a nice way to alleviate your concerns about potential food exposures at school if your student would like to try something similar to what their friends are eating. As always, please let me know if you have any further questions.

In previous years, health standards were taught by other staff members. Starting this school year, our PE teachers will serve as Health and PE teachers and will take on the responsibility of teaching the health standards.
This month in music we are finishing up our first unit on rhythm. Mid-month we will be diving deeper into the idea of pitch, note letter names and solfege syllables (do, re, mi, etc.). We will be exploring how to use our bodies to show high sounds and low sounds and where to find high and low sounds on our Orff instruments. Chorus rehearsals for 5th and 6th grade have begun but it is not too late to sign up, have your student stop by my room to pick up a permission slip. Orff rehearsals for 5th and 6th grade will begin Wednesday, Oct. 2nd and continue every Thursday after that.
In Art we are beginning paint projects. Each grade level is working on specific stadandard related to painting. We can't wait to see the finished projects!
