This month in Physical Education 3rd-5th are working on hand eye coordination using the racquet skills unit.

K-2nd are learning manipulative skills such as throwing and catching with different types of equipment.

6th graders are starting to prepare for their track and field event. They will be learning how to participate in the 100M, 200M, 400M, 4x1 relay race, softball throw, football throw, soccer punt, high jump, long jump, and tug of war.

This month in art class, students in all grades are beginning to create their spring clay projects. They range from slab owls in Kindergarten to clay bobbleheads in 6th grade. The projects will be showcased at the Lititz El Open House in May.

Music

Ask your child which Disney song he/she voted for in Disney March Madness. This activity caused a lot of discussion in the hallways and lunchroom.

Next Year Parent Survey

As we approach the end of this school year and begin planning for next year, our team is beginning to think about class lists.  We understand the importance of students developing a strong academic bond with their teachers.  To help our school team in planning, this survey provides families with an opportunity to share the following (if you have multiple children, please complete one per child):

There are 2 sections to this survey.

* Information you'd like next year's group of teachers to know about your child.

* Your family's intention to move out of the Lititz Elementary School Zone and/or attend a school elsewhere (another Warwick elementary, cyber, private, homeschool, etc.).  School location by street address can be found here: https://tinyurl.com/swvzssp

Lititz Elementary will gladly accept any information you are willing to share regarding your student(s), however, as in all Warwick elementary buildings, we cannot honor specific teacher requests.  Each teacher brings a dynamic personality to his or her classroom that will end up being an important component of your child’s overall growth. We work to provide each student a quality experience throughout the school year through a team approach to each student. Completion of this form is completely optional (however, please do complete it if you plan to move).  If you choose to provide this information, please submit it by April 10th.  To ensure proper time for planning and organization, the survey will close on April 10th at 12:00 AM.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Jenna Louderback

Principal

* Please note that all information shared will be provided, as typed, to the receiving teachers and professional staff serving your child for the 2024-2025 school year.  If you have a confidential and/or a sensitive item you'd like to share with Mrs. Louderback, please email her directly at jlouderback@warwicksd.org.

Please complete this survey by April 10th. Click here for the survey.

Nurse's Corner

Spring has sprung!  We are finally getting a taste of warmer weather. The trees and shrubs are blossoming and blooming, and while it’s a beautiful and energetic time of year, children with seasonal allergies really struggle to get through the school day.  If your child is prone to itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing, congestion, or asthma-like symptoms each spring, please be proactive by providing over-the-counter allergy meds before school each morning.

You might not realize this, but school nurses may not give any allergy medication, except for Benadryl in emergency situations, unless we have a specific doctor’s order for your child.  The same goes for cough and cold medicine. Even though these are over-the-counter medications, we are not permitted to give them.

Here are some additional tips for minimizing allergy symptoms for your child:

As always, don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Sell with any questions or concerns!
