Hello! I am an itinerant Speech Language Pathologist for Warren County Public Schools. I serve students at Alvaton Elementary three days a week and Warren East High School/Rivendell two days. Since I am an traveling between schools, the easiest way to reach me is email @ nicole.laffin@warren.kyschools.us
I am originally from Alvaton. My parents still live there! My grandparents graduated from Alvaton in 1943! I went to Alvaton school until third grade when I moved to McNeill Elementary. I went to Bowling Green Junior High and graduated from Bowling Green High School. I attended Vanderbilt University and received a Bachelors degree in Special Education. I moved to Asheville, North Carolina and taught for two years at North Carolina School for the Deaf when I decided to pursue a degree in Speech Pathology. I obtained my Masters Degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and completed my externship at Boys Town National Research Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. I then moved to Jackson Hole, Wyoming where I worked in Early Intervention for seven years, started a private practice with an Occupational Therapist working with school age children, ran inclusive summer camps for three years, and contracted with the Idaho School District for two years. My daughter was born in 2011 and I moved back to Kentucky in 2013 to be closer to family. The past six years, I have provided private speech language therapy as well as work for WKU Communication Disorders Program supervising undergraduate and graduate students. I enjoy Crossfit, mountain biking, road biking, bonfires, coffee, anything outdoors, working with kids, and of course spending time with my family. I look forward to working with your child and making lots of progress this school year!
