Betty Jean (B.J.) Cummings

WELCOME to Ms. B.J.'s Page!

My name is Betty Jean Cummings, CCC/SLP. I am the Speech/Language Therapist for South Warren Middle School (SWMS), South Warren High School (SWHS), and Greenwood High School (GHS) in Warren County, Kentucky. I am a nationally certified SLP, and have been practicing for 30+ years. I have been working in the Warren County Schools since August, 2001 (20 years). I graduated from Western Kentucky University for both my Bachelor's Degree (May, 1983) and Master's Degree (May, 1989) in Exceptional Education: Speech and Communication Disorders: K-12. I live on a farm in Woodburn, KY, where I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, Shiloh and Lily Kate, and my goldfish pond. I have started collecting marbles, and enjoy searching flea markets, antique shops, and the internet, to find unique marbles. I was married for 37 years to my husband, Dwight Cummings, who passed away in November, 2018. I have a son, Dustin, and daughter, Amy, who keep my life interesting. I lost my daughter, Abby to Neuroblastoma in November, 2006.

I love working with my middle and high school students. It is so rewarding to watch them continue to progress through the years, and especially love working with my juniors and seniors with teaching transitional communication skills and helping them learn how to communicate more effectively after graduation on a job or at a college.
