Policy reminders:
All medication permission must go through the nurse on your campus and a medication administration form needs to be filled out for every medication on hand.
Students are not allowed to carry medication. All medication must be kept in campus nurse's office.
Parents are responsible for providing medications. Wall ISD does not keep Tylenol/Motrin or other over the counter medicines on hand unless provided by the parents for that individual student.
DO NOT send individual tablets of medication in plastic baggies. The nurse will not administer any medication not in the original bottle.
Inhalers are considered medication! They may be carried IF:
The student has an asthma action plan on file that has been signed by a parent and the doctor with self-carry agreement.
The inhaler is in the original box with pharmacy label or inhaler has pharmacy label on it.
EpiPens may be carried by student IF:
There is an allergy action plan on file with self-carry agreement that has been signed by a parent and the doctor.
The EpiPen must be individually labeled for that student.
Please contact the nurse on your campus with any questions or concerns.
Disregarding the district medication policy will result in consequences deemed necessary by school administration.
