Health Guidelines
Students with the following signs and symptoms are to be excluded from school attendance until they are symptom free and/or fever free without medication for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
Fever with oral equivalent of 100.0 or greater
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Strep throat for 24 hours after the first dose of medication.
Flu - until symptoms improved and fever free 24 hours without medication or according to physician’s note.
COVID - until symptoms improved and fever free 24 hours without medication or according to physician's note.
A persistent productive cough and wheeze with thick constant nasal discharge
Skin rashes that are associated with fever or any drainage
Pinkeye- yellow discharge, eyes matted together after sleep, eye pain and redness.
Persistent productive cough that produces bloody sputum
Any open draining lesion
While at school, signs and symptoms will be assessed by your campus nurse and may result in your child being sent home. You will be notified promptly if your child needs to be picked up for any reason.
Contagious (communicable) Diseases or Illnesses
The district is also required to report certain contagious (communicable) diseases or illnesses to the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) or our local/regional health authority. Click the link below to find an up to date list of reportable conditions.
