If you have gmail, you can make your own youtube "channel" to which you can upload your videos. When you upload your videos you can choose from three levels of privacy: - public (anyone can view), unlisted (only people with the link can view), and private( only you and anyone else who you give permissions to.) There is limited editing available online but this is still in beta (good to test but not always reliable) at the time of publishing this website. You are better to use iMovie, WeVideo or other proprietary software for more than basic editing. Remember that if you make a youtube channel you cannot transfer ownership. You need to download all videos that you wish to transfer over then a new person would have to upload them.
