Links in digital text should not be long. You can shorten them using a URL shortener. Some common ones are on this page. Some characterise or personalise the URLs.

In documents, sites, presentations etc you can also type in text then insert the link.

Easy access to internet sites or text or images. Read with an iPhone or iPad camera or an Android app such as Kapersky QR Scanner or QR Code Reader by Scan. One example of a site that makes QR codes is found at this link. You can make codes at the QR Code Generator site or you can also use extensions like this one.

Google Classroom can be used to easily share resources and documents with others. The video on the right shows how to share with different rights including making a new copy for each learner/participant.

You can also use Google Classroom to share resources, videos, links etc. If any learners are not in your work domain then set up your Classroom with a private Gmail address and get them to do the same.

OneTab is a Chrome extension that allows us to close multiple tabs and collate all those links onto one web page. You can also share these as a web page.

Bookmarking on Chrome

Set up your chrome browser to enable easy bookmarking. You can add folders as well as individual links .

Google calendars (your university calendar) allows you to share you calendar with others as well as create group calendars with different permissions. Click on the calendar icon for help. You can set up reminders for events and schedule tasks.

A comprehensive notes app which works on most devices and can integrate with Google Docs. You can draw, type, add links and photos, create checklists, colour code and add voice notes. You can also share and collaborate on notes with others.

Taking screenshots

Screenshots are useful for putting in slides or adding images to portfolios, or collecting evidence that may be hard to find otherwise.

Diigo is a bookmarking tool that allows you to share bookmarks and make groups of similar links.
