In Year 10 Commerce, students are introduced to key business concepts through an engaging programme that combines hands-on learning with digital technology, so that students can apply theory in real-world contexts. Students learn to develop research skills, think critically and gain practical experience in how small businesses operate. This course prepares students well for further study in subjects like Commerce and Business Studies at senior levels. Here are some of the topics we cover in Year 10 Commerce:
Production - students learn about the production process, inputs and outputs, and factors affecting quality, productivity and efficiency.
Marketing - students explore the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion), market research methods, and strategies for identifying and targeting customers
Enterprise - Students participate in a hands-on enterprise project, working together in small groups to develop a business plan for their own small businesses. They will sell the products they develop at a market day for profit.
