Year 7 English (7ENG)

Course Overview: By the end of the year, students will have developed a strong foundation in English literacy. They will be confident communicators who can effectively express themselves in a variety of contexts.

Students will be assessed through a variety of methods, including written assignments, oral and/or visual presentations, projects, and in-class activities. The focus will be on demonstrating progress in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

Year 8 English (8ENG)

Course Overview: Building on Year 7 skills, students will deepen their understanding of language, literature, and communication. This year aims to foster critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication. The focus will be on demonstrating progress in reading, writing, presenting, and listening skills, as well as critical thinking and creativity.

By the end of the year, students will be confident and articulate communicators capable of engaging with more complex texts and expressing their ideas clearly and effectively. They will have developed a strong foundation in English, preparing them for future success.

Year 9 English (9ENG)

Course Overview: Year 9 English focuses on deepening students' critical thinking, analytical, and creative abilities. Students will explore a wide range of texts, developing sophisticated understanding of language, literary devices, and communication strategies.

By the end of Year 9, students will be confident, articulate, and critical thinkers who can effectively communicate their ideas in a variety of contexts. They will have developed a strong foundation in English, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities of senior secondary school.
