College/Career Indicators
The College/Career Indicator measures how well schools are preparing students for likely success after graduation. Only graduates can be classified as Prepared or Approaching Prepared. For schools to demonstrate success on this state indicator, high school graduates must meet at least one of the measure in the prepared level. (Visit www.cde.ca.gov for more information).
PREPARED LEVEL- Does the graduate meet at least 1 measure below?
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA Plus any one of the following:
Measure 1: Complete a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway plus:
Completion of one semester of Dual Enrollment OR
SBAC/CAASPP: Score a level 3 “Standard Met” on ELA or Math and at least a Level 2 “Standard Nearly Met” on ELA or Math
Measure 2: Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments (SBAC):
Score a Level 3 “Standard Met” or higher on both ELA and Math on the CAASPP.
Measure 3: College Credit Courses:
-Two semesters or three quarters of Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Enrollment with a grade of C- or better in academic/CTE subjects where college credit is awarded
Measure 4: Advanced Placement (AP) Exams:
Pass two AP exams with a 3 or higher
Measure 5: University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) a-g requirements:
Complete the courses that meet the UC or CSU A-G criteria plus one of the following criteria:
Complete a CTE Pathway -or-
SBAC/CAASPP: Score a level 3 “Standard Met” on ELA or Math and at least a Level 2 “Standard Nearly Met” on ELA or Math -or-
Complete one semester of Dual Enrollment –or-
Pass one AP exam

SSB awarded and score of Level 3 or higher in ELA on the Smarter Balanced Summative Assessments
Measure 7: Leadership/Military Science
2 years of Leadership/Military Science, score of Level 3 or higher in ELA or math, and Level 2 “Standard Nearly Met” or higher in other subject area.
APPROACHING PREPARED LEVEL- Does the graduate meet at least 1 measure below?
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA Plus any one of the following:
Measure A:
Complete a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway
Measure B:
SBAC/CAASPP:
Score a Level 2 “Standard Nearly Met” on both ELA and Math
Measure C:
Completion of one semester of Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Enrollment with passing grade
Measure D:
Completion of courses that meet the UC or CSU A-G criteria
Measure E:
Leadership/Military Science:
Two years of Leadership/ Military Science
NOT PREPARED LEVEL- Student did not meet any of the measures or did not graduate.
