Elementary Expanded Learning Programs:
Visalia Unified partners with two local organizations to offer Expanded Learning Programs for our elementary school sites. ProYouth HEART is a long-standing partner with Visalia Unified who specializes in Expanded Learning Programs. The HEART Program is a grant-funded program and is offered at no-cost to parents. However, there is limited availability that differs from school to school. HEART is offered at the following elementary schools; Annie R. Mitchell, Conyer, Crestwood, Crowley, Elbow Creek, Four Creeks, Goshen, Ivanhoe, Global Learning Charter, Linwood, Mt. View, Royal Oaks, Mineral King, Highland, Houston, Manuel F. Hernandez, Golden Oak, Pinkham, Riverway, Washington, and Willow Glen. The Visalia City Parks and Recreation After School Activities Program provides similar after school services to Oak Grove, Hurley, Shannon Ranch, Crestwood, Denton and Manuel F. Hernandez.

Middle School Expanded Learning Programs:
VUSD provide The PULSE Afterschool Program at all 5 VUSD Middle Schools; Divisadero, Green Acres, La Joya, Ridgeview and Valley Oak. The PULSE (Promoting Unity, Leadership and Success through Enrichment), provides both academic and enrichment opportunities for students. Academically, The PULSE provides homework assitance, test-preparation, tutorials and core subject interventions to support student success. To expose students to expanded learnng opportunties, The PULSE Afterschool Program provides a variety of hands-on, project-based enrichment programs including STEM, visual and performing arts, sports and physical fitness, leadership and social-emotional learning and much more.

High School Expanded Learning Programs:
Visalia Unified partners with the ProYouth XL Program to provide after school activities and supports for VUSD high school students. The XL Program is offered at all four VUSD comprehensive high schools along with Sequoia High School. Services include academic tutoring and study table, academic and enrichment programs and a variety of pathway-oriented projects.
