The Eastern Shore Agricultural Fair is an Eastern Shore of Virginia Chamber of Commerce annual event with a strong presence from Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) and 4-H. The event, typically held the first Saturday in October in Machipongo, draws hundreds of people every year to enjoy free, family-friendly activities.
Youth activities hosted by 4-H at this event include a poster competition with a theme centered around agriculture and/or aquaculture, decorated sweet potato competition, critter-less critter contest, sack races, and more. VCE also hosts crop and garden competitions for both youth and adult. The ESVA Chamber hosts the youth and adult baking and photography competitions.
Registration for competitions and more information can be found on the Virginia Cooperative Extension - Northampton website. More info about the ESVA Ag Fair can be found on the ESVA Chamber website.
