First of all, what even is a vlog? And how is it different from other types of video?
As you’ve probably guessed, ‘vlog' stands for ‘video blog' and it's exactly that: content that you would write a blog post about, but instead you talk to a camera about it.
There are two main styles of vlog: a ‘talking-head' video where the camera is on a tripod (or on a stack of books depending on your equipment budget!) and stays steady while the vlogger talks about a subject, or a ‘follow me around' vlog where the vlogger takes a camera with them and films clips as they go about their day or week.

It's much easier to build a personal connection with your audience through vlogging than it is through writing or podcasting. There is something meaningful about seeing someone speak to you, even if it is through video! When you vlog, you're letting someone in to see a little piece of your life or thoughts.
Keep it short and don't be too wordy. Use a strong opening so that people want to keep watching. See my video on this blog page. Make sure you’re funny in an unscripted and unrehearsed way.
If you're wondering what to talk about when vlogging, think about what you know about your chosen niche topic (I bet it’s a lot!). Write down anything that comes to mind—any small piece of your process that could be turned into a video a few minutes long. Think about any challenges you faced when you were just getting started, or ones you still struggle with today.
Stay authentic.
Film with your phone landscape (horizontally).
Don’t film for too long, or you’ll lose your viewers' attention. For this vlog, aim for 2 minutes.
Sketch an image with your words so that the viewer feels they are there with you. Describe well what is happening around you.
Just go do it! Grab your phone and record yourself.
