Google Sites uses themes. Each theme has a set of colours and fonts. When you choose a theme, those colours and fonts apply to all pages, and you cannot change them. Each page consists of several sections, and you can change the style or background image for each section. To do this, click on the painter's palette icon on the left, next to the text.
You can only add a video that is already on YouTube. When you try to add a video, Google Sites will open its own YouTube search screen. If you have the link to a video, you can also paste it there.
When you make a video with your phone, you first need to upload it to a YouTube channel. Make sure to set the privacy settings for the video to 'public' or 'unlisted'. Otherwise, you will not be able to view the video on the website.
The Google Sites editor shows how the website will appear on a computer screen. You can check how your website will look on a phone or tablet by clicking the icon with a 'tablet and mobile phone' at the top of the screen. Refer to the red arrow in the image next to this text.
Before others can view the site you must publish it. You do that with the blue button at the top of the screen. Make sure your website meets all requirements. You can find out what the requirements are in the blog rubric.
