One of the objectives of the VJC Science & Technology Centre is to provide a platform for students to develop an interest in research and to nurture youths as research talents for Singapore.
The objective of the A*STAR-VJC Science Fair is to give students from schools the experience of conducting an investigative science project and provide them with a platform to present and share their findings with others, where they will also be assessed by external judges from various research institutes. Each year, the fair also attracts a fair number of schools who send students as attendees to the fair which allows A*STAR to reach out to schools in the East Zone that we do not normally engage.
The science fair judging will be held face-to-face on 14 July 2026 and the prize presentation and sharing session will be held in person at Victoria Junior College on 17 July 2026.
The A*STAR-VJC Science Fair is open to all Singapore Secondary Schools. There are three categories.
• Upper Secondary (East Zone)
• Upper Secondary (Open)
• Lower Secondary (Open)
The nature of the research projects for submission will be classified as follows.
• Science
• Technology and Engineering
• Mathematics and Computing
Prizes for each category are shown below.
GOLD: $80 book vouchers per team, medals and certificates
SILVER: $60 book vouchers per team, medals and certificates
BRONZE: $20 book vouchers per team, medals and certificates
MERIT: Medals and certificates
To better support our prospective participants who may be new in their research journey, our Centre will be offering two workshops, namely: VJC Science e-Symposium and VJC Science Communication Workshop.

2025 A*STAR-VJC Science Fair was held on 22 July and 25 July 2025. A total of 92 teams from 31 schools participated in the research competition.
