Unit 1

In this unit we have learned about mechanical waves, Transverse waves, Longitudinal waves. And as we know waves can be in many forms like water waves or sound waves. So in our first project we are faced with tackling the problem of trash getting pushed in to beaches causing damages to beaches in Taiwan. We had to find ways to fix the problems of the damages on beaches here in Taiwan.

Unit 3

In this unit we have learned about many interesting things like mirrors, reflections, refractions. But for me the most interesting thing that i learned was reflection, because reflections is apart of my daily life and i can see it everywhere, so learning more of reflections helped me understand how it works more.

In this project i went more in depth with the reflections, so because of that i learned so much about the concave optical illusions where it only uses mirrors and reflections to trick you and personally i find that optical illusion very cool.

In this unit, if i can i would like to learn more about light and how they really work. Because Knowing more about light and how they can absorb different colours can help you understand more about colour theory and help you in art. or to simplifiy it because ii like art.

Unit 4

Question 1

Explain how resources limit the growth of a population, give examples and explain this topic in detail.

Resources limit the growth of a population. Because the "carrying capacity" of an population depends on the amount of available resources and how the members of the population use them. So with that you can also conclude that natural resources or resources in general plays a big role of a population capacity and how much that population can develop. And because there are approximately 15,000 babies born per hour, this makes the population grows leading to more usage of resources, and as the resources gets fewer the resources limit the growth of the population. An example of this is the St. Paul Island Reindeer where a group of reindeers were introduced to an isolated and untouched island with massive supply of food making them to settle there and reproduce creating an population, but as the reindeers ate more lichens then they could regrow the reindeers starved leading to only a few reindeers remaining.

Question 2

Explain what a Solar and Lunar eclipse is and why they occur

To start off, what is solar and lunar eclipses and how they occur. Firstly, a solar eclipses occurs when the moon moves into earth's shadow but the earth must be between the moon and the sun so it is usually in the full moon phase but not always. Meanwhile the solar eclipses can only occur during the new moon phase when the moon is in a straight line between the earth and the sun casting an shadow on earth. But then why does these eclipses occur? The eclipses occur because the earth sun and moon stands in an straight line where the earth and moon sway places for the lunar and solar eclipses.

Please reflect on this unit and explain which part you liked the most and why

After finnishing this unit, the part that i liked the most was about space. Because the knowlage even of we learned this already feels very fresh and new. Personaly i don't know why but space just feels like a good topic maybe becasue of its deep history and unknown places buteven if we allready known this knowlage space just makes it feel brand new and more fresh. Becasue of this topic i got more foucoused on science and more intreseted to learn reather than learning about human population or just other things except chemestry.
