STEM PROJECT 1
STEM PROJECT 1
I learned about some types of waves, which has " water waves, sound waves, longitudinal waves, mechanical waves, amplitude and energy, also proportional relationships."
This STEM PROJECT 1 connect to the "water waves," we talked about that the waves will gives damages if the wave frequency keep increasing. So we know many things after researching "The longer wavelengths will have lower frequencies. The coastline recedes, and the seawater advances. The distance between consecutive wave crests or troughs decreases."
Wave & ocean currents / Tides and sea level rise: Wave actions, ocean currents, high tides, sea level rise.
Storms and cyclones / Changes in climate and precipitation: Extreme weather events, precipitation patterns, droughts.
Ways to protect ocean:
Don’t build the dune building, respecting wildlife and natural dunes, avoiding litter and collecting waste, especially your own waste, avoiding cars, motorboats and jet skis.
Original design: The Liquid Spongey
This can makes our beaches has less damage also collect salt and makes sea water turn into clean water. We can sell those salt and send the clean water to the water center.
The Ocean:
The reason why we think this idea can works is because it can make economies moves. Make more water, and help the country to has less lack of water problems. When the LIQUID SPONGE is collecting (absorbing) sea water, that makes the wave frequency decrease.
STEM PROJECT 2
The signals by using hands is making me feeling fun and interested, because that's another ways to helps us interact and communicate with others, people with disabilities, and some situations that you need a secret language instead of talking. I only learned about 2 ~ 5 hands laguage before, so this time I learned how to shows the signal of every letters by showing dots and lines by use one finger, and a five sign, all by hands. Also learned how to write that secret and special signs for sentences or words.
This STEM PROJECT two is to find a optical illusion and describe about that picture (what type of illusion it is, how it works, what did I see, real life examples). I chose a Physiological Illusion, things we see will send messages to our brain, and your senses part of the brain will send back the messages that been changed and fix to you. That makes the illusion happens even though it’s just a simple nothing wrong picture or view. It will automatic re-read and understanding it by using the pass experience, back ground, and gives you a fixed image that was be over-understanding by yourself. Like the color, size, clear. So as this picture, there's four grey line, but it seems like two dark and two bright, but actually they are all the same. In this Unit, I learned a lot about color and light, lenses, reflection and refraction, convex and concave. (also part of Unit 2 lessons)
I might want to learn more about signals, which means different kind of signals, there's digital signals, hands signals, numbers signals, and maybe there's more signals that I don't hear before and see before. So that's the one I want to see and learn more about.
