Dear Children and Parents,
We hope you had a lovely long weekend and that everyone is continuing to stay at home and stay safe.
Below is a suggested outline of home work and continuing class work for the coming week.
Maths:
Area is our new topic for this week. We have provided information cards and power points along with worksheets and activities that can be printed off or completed in a copy.
Better Maths: None! Enjoy the short week! - The answers to Unit 28 will be given below.
Gaeilge:
We are introducing the theme of 'Caitheamh Aimsire' this week. Below are some vocabulary flashcards and an assortment of activities along with some activities from Abair Liom which can be completed in copy books. There is also a link to Abair Liom poster 17.
English:
Reading Zone - Unit 26 (See below)
There is also a set of posters on how to create a piece of recount writing and some topic ideas you might like to write about.
Music:
We have included a link with some more difficult tunes you might like to try on your tin whistle.
S.E.S.E
For this week we are working on History and the topic of Ancient Rome. We have included some power points on life as a Roman slave and also the story of how Rome was founded in Romulus and Remus. We hope you enjoy watching the you tube clips on Ancient Italy and the Colosseum

Try adding watching PE with Joe into your daily routine. It's on YouTube every morning at 9.
This week in PE we are going to have a fun activity incorporating our names! You can choose how much you want to test yourself by how many parts of your name you use. Enjoy! We are also going to test our running capabilities in a daily time trial test.

Mindfulness:
In these unfamiliar times Mindfulness is an important and powerful tool to help keep our minds active and healthy. This week we will be focusing on positive self-talk along with continuing our weekly mindful quotes. Keep passing compliments and sharing smiles, it only takes a second but the effects can last a lifetime.
Again we will mention that we are acutely aware of differing family situations from internet access ,printer,parents working from home etc so please only complete what you feel is manageable for you and your child. Please be under no pressure as every little helps. In order to ease any worries or concerns we are available to answer any questions or queries, review ,offer suggestions or give feedback on any completed work.
We were delighted to receive your completed work .We would like to add some more on to next week's blog so please don't forget to add the parental permission to submitted work.
