Dear Children and Parents,
We hope you had a lovely weekend and that everyone is continuing to stay at home and stay safe. We hope that you are all enjoying the activities on our blog each week and that you are using this suggested work as a guideline to help you do your work at home. Please only complete what you feel is manageable for you and your child.
We were delighted to receive your completed work this week. Check it out on our Pupil's Work page.You can access the Pupil's work page and all previous posts by using the menu tab in the top left hand corner.We would like to add some more on to next week's blog so please don't forget to add the parental permission to submitted work.
We also got some 'hi' emails. It was great to hear from you. If you didn't get a chance to send us an email please make every effort to contact us by email on 4thclassteachers@virginians.ie.

Below is a suggested outline of home work and continuing class work for the coming week.
Caitheamh Aimsire is continuing this week. Below are some vocabulary flashcards along with some activities from Abair Liom which can be completed in copy books. Éist don scéal freisin...Cú Chulainn.
Pattern is our new topic for this week. This week we have taken the pattern activities from your Mathemagic book and introduced a Tangram template for you to create your own patterns. All these Maths activities can be done in your copy, no need to print. You could copy the Tangram onto an old cardboard box
Better Maths: Unit 29
This week we are covering the story "On Boaster's Hill" and accompanying exercises.
For our writing genre we are working with recount writing . There are plenty of options to choose from to get the memory banks working! Be sure to useful the Helpful Hints to remind us the best way to make our recounts interesting as well as informative.
This week in Geography we are going to Italy! We are going to have a look at the physical features of this 'bel paese'!
Enjoy learning about the landmarks, food and delights of Italy.
Check out teacher's "dogs" giving Joe Wicks a run for his money :-) This week we will play a game called Retriever Race. We had lots of fun trying it out.
This week we will be using our 5 senses to create moments of calmness in our minds. When we have feelings of being overwhelmed this can be a great exercise to bring you back out of the storm.

Use some of the pattern ideas to create your own pattern quilt or pattern collage.Why not add on some words of inspiration to your creation.

You have just returned from a trip of a lifetime to Italy.Using your recount writing skills ,compile a presentation for your class telling them all about the wonderful sights you saw, food you ate,people you met etc.
Create and design an Italian menu with some of our favourite foods.

Switch - Try playing it as a triangle if you only have four players!
Kerbs - An old favourite of mine! Stand with a ball about fives paces in front of a kerb. The aim is to hit the kerb and have the ball bounce back up into your hands. If you can get it to bounce back you get 10 points. Can you get to 100 points ?
Try Play against an opponent. Who can be first to get to 50?
A simple game of race and retrieve except this time you can't use your hands. Get more 'dogs ' to join your pack and make it into a Retriever Relay Race.
In this video we used 3 teddies and 4 barbies for retrieval but you can use anything at your disposal.
For art this week let's try some patterns indoors and outdoors. I'm definitely going to try the chalk mandala.
