Dear Children and Parents,
We hope you are all keeping well and are enjoying some of the fantastic weather we have been getting this past week!
We hope you found the work and activities we provided last week helpful, interesting and manageable. We are aware that there were some problems accessing the Irish content. We have tried our best to ensure that those who are having difficulty setting up an account and/or navigating the folensonline website will not have similar issues this week as we have posted pictures of the work here on the blog that can be used to complete the same work/activities. Also at the end of the blog is the steps to help you access it.
Below is a suggested outline of home work and continuing class work for the coming week.
Maths:
Data is our new topic for this week. We have provded information cards and powerpoints along with worksheets and activities that can be printed off or completed in a copy.
Better Maths: Unit 28 - The answers to Unit 27 will be provided at the bottom of the blogpost.
Gaeilge:
We are continuing with the theme of 'An Aimsir' this week. Below are some vocabulary flashcards and an assortment of activities along with some activities from Abair Liom which can be completed in copy books.
English:

We have included a link to help revise the basics of how to play the tin whistle and some simple tunes you can practise!
S.E.S.E
For this week we are working on Geography and the topic of Rocks. Below are power points with an introduction to Rocks in Ireland and also our most famous rock formations in The Giant's Causeway and The Cliff's of Moher .

You are working for Fáilte Ireland as a tour guide. Design a brochure enticing tourist to the Cliffs of Moher.
Make a weather diary for the week as Gaeilge.
P.E
Try adding watching PE with Joe into your daily routine. It's on YouTube every morning at 9.
You are the new gym instructor in your house!! Create a 5-10 minute workout schedule for the whole family to enjoy. Try to incorporate some of these activities, jumping jacks,high knees,planks,squats , lunges etc.
Project Work:
For this week's project why not pick a famous Rock Landmark from around the world . Some suggestions .......

The Grand Canyon in USA
Stonehenge in England
Easter Island in Chile
Mount Rushmore
The Blarney Stone.
Mindfulness:
Why not give our mindfulness go noodle activity a try...You got this!!!
Write a letter or a postcard to someone you are really missing during these strange times. e.g a grandparent. An Post have delivered free postcards to every house, time to get writing!!!
Create a gratitude collage ......Pictures and words of "What I am grateful for"
Again we will mention that we are acutely aware of differing family situations from internet access ,printer,parents working from home etc so please only complete what you feel is manageable for you and your child. Please be under no pressure as every little helps. In order to ease any worries or concerns we are available to answer any questions or queries, review ,offer suggestions or give feedback on any completed work.
We were delighted to receive your completed work .We would like to add some more on to next week's blog so please don't forget to add the parental permission to submitted work.
When you are sharing your work why not send us a quick "hi" email. Believe it or not we are all missing you loads and would love an email to see how you are getting on , how you are feeling during these times and also if we could help you in any way?????. Our chats in school and all the news of what is going on with you is our favourite part of the day.
