Element D: Teachers work collaboratively with the families and/or significant adults for the benefit of students.
Artifact One (Student Case Study)
Explanation: I believe this student study demonstrates all 4 elements of the second standard in that this case study is meant hear students voices and feedback they wish their teachers new. This is really important because as teachers we should all be actively learning new ideas to better establish a safe, inclusive, respectful environment for students to learn in. As teachers we need to collaborate with our students so that we can find the best ways of helping them grow as individuals.
Artifact Two (My Journey Presentation)
Explanation: By having students make a presentation at the beginning of the semester sharing who they are, the teacher is establishing a safe environment for students to walk into. This gives students as well as the teacher to get to know who someone is and better understand how they may work in a class environment. This presentation also provides students with the opportunity to share their background and diversity.
