Bio
Hello! My name is Zoe Blanton, and I am an art education major at Colorado State University. For as long as I can remember I've loved making and seeing others create art. It's a way of expressing emotions and displaying messages that aren't always easy to say through words. Being an art teacher gives me the opportunity to help students learn and explore new ways of self-expression which is something I find to be very important for us as people to do.
I believe the key to running an art classroom is by providing a safe, comfortable space for students to come into and discover and explore the creative sides we all have in us. While it is a classroom, it's also a shared studio space that needs love and attention and creating a welcoming environment for students to work in is something I strive to achieve as a future teacher.
Through my experience in EDUC 350 and 386, I've developed a better understand of what being a teacher really means. It's about forming strong, positive connections with students and helping them grow as individuals.
