Element A: Teachers provide instruction that is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards, their District's organized plan of instruction, and the individual needs of their students.
Element B: Teachers develop and implement lessons that connect to a variety of content areas/disciplines and emphasize literacy and mathematical practices.
Element C: Teachers demonstrate knowledge of the content, central concepts, injury, appropriate evidence-based instructional practices, and specialized characteristics of the disciplines being taught.
Artifact One (CEP Lesson Plan 1)
Explanation: For this lesson I was teaching a high school level 2D drawing class. In this lesson plan I had students focus on developing their technical skills in depicting the human figure. The first drawing technique they would be exploring was gesture drawing, later followed by a variety of other drawing techniques. Students needed to work on determining correct proportions and scale of the body as well as being able to observe, analyze and recreate their subject which align with the Colorado Academic Standards for art. As the educator I shared key term, tips and videos explaining the importance of gesture drawing as first step in mastering the human figure.
Artifact Two (Making Thinking Visible-Mini Teaching Lesson Plan and Lesson) Strategy Taught: I Used to Think...Now I Think
Explanation:The strategy I Used to Think…Now I Think connects to multiple areas and disciplines by encouraging students to reflect on their prior knowledge and consider how their understanding evolves after gaining new information. Teaching this strategy helps students actively engage in metacognition and reflective thinking. This aligns with Colorado Academic Standards, as reflection and critical thinking are necessary across content areas.
