Family visits the island on a land rover. The daughter gets rushed to a near by hospital. Then they try to figure out what bit her. Most people say it's a lizard but one person thinks it is a dinosaur. The team of scientist meets InGen.

InGen tells the team about dinosaurs. The team of scientist ask questions. There is not that much that happens for the first 100 pages, but it does go very into detail making a great plot but a little time consuming. I think it is cool that after every chapter there is a Iteration at the end of each chapter with a quote.

The team of scientist are surprise that dinosaurs are real, and still trying to wrap their head around it. they explore research site and help with InGen. They are still shocked about the dinosaur's ability but can still have basic medical knowledge. They help InGen contain instead of breaking the dinosaurs out of InGen's grasp. They take a land cruiser to the other side of the inland and get attack by a Tyrannosaurus rex after helping the baby Trex. They lost most of their equipment was thrown off the cliff and most InGen's equipment is also gone. This is the more intresting part but still not at the climax yet.

They go towards what is left of the old park, into the dark. They are still worried about the T rex that is still in rage.

This where things start to get really detailed and intense. They get high in the tree top setting up camp, as they look out. They try to locate where they are out and how can they get off the island. They repair a old response jeep, and head out for control. In the movie they just walk to control instead of using a jeep.

They walk around the old park to find power and supplies. They found some ice cream but it is very spoiled. They continue to search until they find the control center and restart the park and turn the power on. It shows a few pictures of how they do it from time to time, but it also goes into detail on how they worked the software. I think this is kind of of unnecessary. They do get attack by raptors from time to time so that is at least interesting.

They escape the Island already and go to New York instead of San Frisco. It described New York and the government. For some reasons there are no pictures allowed on the plane? Then they talk about soy beans for a entire page. This book is a little weird and sometimes it goes too in depth into random things.

These 100 pages goes way into depth about the software that they use and how they used it. Half of the pages is pictures at this point, It does talk about the research that they have but the is mostly it and what they have on the computer. This was completely unnecessary, and I wished the writer focused on more dinosaurs then computer software but to each its own. It does talk about a dinosaur nest, so that's cool, and it talks about dr.harling and some raptor encounters.

The first 50 pages it talks about the problems with evolution, and a few parasaurs encounters and them mating inside cave, and it countines to talk about Dr.Harling and some of his finding a bit but not as much as pages

500-600. It talks about Sarah and how she is recording some of this, and the book treats Sarah as some type of werdo that likes dinosaur mating so much.

The Intro is very different, the family comes on a land rover instead of a yacht. In the book they don't know it is a dinosaur at first, but in the movie they know. The main difference is also how they get around and how they get off the island. The ending is very different as it takes place in New York and they go back to the island. Sarah has a lot more purpose in the movie than in the book.

I really like the movie better as it focuses on the plot and giving characters purpose than the minor details.

The book was still good, the main thing that could be better is Sarah's personality being more thought out and more into the plot and a lot less focus on the scientist computers. The movie could be better with Sarah also as she is not in the plot as much ether. This is one of the rare cases where the movie does so much better than the book.

I would give the movie 9/10 and the book 7/10.

Most People thought the book was okay but would not buy it again, while they thought the movie was great. I honestly mostly agree on what they have to say. The book focuses very little on character development, dinosaur attacks and occasionally has a chapter that does not have any dinosaurs in it. Most people would not read the book again and I kind of regret buying it for $30, but there were some people who liked it. Most People also agreed that this was one of the worse books in the francize. There was a lot of thing that need to be change for the community to like it, but sadly the creator is dead.
