Orange peel weaving and embroidery workshop
The workshop was born out of a meeting with Yosra Asor through a common affinity for the material.
Yosra engages in handwork, through which she empowers women from the Arab population. together we wanted to find a way to combine traditional handwork together with fruit peels.
After many meetings, creative attempts and conversations. About crafts and traditions that have disappeared, about the representation of the orange for the Arab and Jewish population of Jaffa and about shared thoughts on how to create an impact through joint action.

Together we created two sessions where we taught weaving and embroidery using traditional techniques with strips of orange peel.
We wanted to create an innovation in the joint work that took place between the Arab and Jewish populations around the work of the orchard, through the joint work of handicrafts that used to be basic knowledge.
All the oranges are local to the area and were collected from the coffee shops around the Nega complex.
These handicrafts also have a great value on the mental level, being actions with relaxing qualities and an opportunity to slow down and connect with the material.
The products from the meetings were combined into one common tower as part of the solo exhibition I presented 'Local Orange'.
The Minaret A structure made of several floors made like a loom for weaving and embroidery and stacked one on top of the other to create a common structure.
