Advocating for Change

Objective: Students will explore a variety of different ways to advocate for change, and select 1-3 interventions that the group will focus on going forward.

Warm-Up: Newspaper Ad (10 minutes)

Core Activity: Intervention Scavenger Hunt (50 minutes)

WARM-UP: Newspaper Ad (10 minutes)

Materials: Blank paper, coloring materials

As individuals or in small groups, ask youth to remember one of the solutions that they brainstormed in the previous lesson and draw a newspaper ad to advertise that solution to the community. The ad can have text, images, etc...
Ask each individual/group to share their ad with at least one other person when finished.
Explain that today's lesson will look at many different ways that we can advertise our ideas and research to stakeholders and to the community in order to advocate for change.
