Your YPAR project (whether it takes place over a year, a semester, a month, etc...) should be divided into two main phases:
Each lesson is divided into the following modules, which facilitators and youth and pick and choose according to their needs:
WARM-UP
These are brief activities that can be done in 5-15 minutes and will help get youth engaged and excited for the lesson.
ENGAGE
These activities can typically be done in 15-20 minutes and go a step further in engaging and preparing youth. Time permitting, these activities are ideal for groups of youth who need extra support and scaffolding.
CORE ACTIVITY
These activities lead youth through the essential task of the lesson.
EXTENSION
If your group has extra time on its hands, these activities delve deeper into some of the central concepts of research and community action.
