Power the polls
In the US, there is currently a national poll worker shortage. Most poll workers are over the age of 60. Because Covid-19 poses a potential health risk to them, fewer people are signing up to work at polls. The results of poll worker shortage include long lines and voter disenfranchisement.
What is Power the Polls?
Power the Polls is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire 250,000 healthy, young, low-risk people to sign up to work the polls. Poll workers would:
Prevent staffing shortages that would result in closure of polling places
Ensure election technology functions properly and efficiently, minimizing lines and delays
Help voters in their communities navigate issues when voting.
