In the US, there is currently a national poll worker shortage. Most poll workers are over the age of 60. Because Covid-19 poses a potential health risk to them, fewer people are signing up to work at polls. The results of poll worker shortage include long lines and voter disenfranchisement.

Power the Polls is a non-profit organization that aims to inspire 250,000 healthy, young, low-risk people to sign up to work the polls. Poll workers would:

• Prevent staffing shortages that would result in closure of polling places

• Ensure election technology functions properly and efficiently, minimizing lines and delays

• Help voters in their communities navigate issues when voting.
