The client, a prominent garment manufacturer (Urban Wear), required a clear, interactive solution to address profit erosion caused by high return rates and a lack of granular visibility into product performance. The goal was to consolidate sales, orders, and returns data to provide management with actionable insights to optimize inventory, reduce returns, and improve product mix profitability.
High-Risk Returns: The analysis identified that Jackets and Pants have the highest return rate, spiking in Q4 2021. This indicates potential quality or sizing inconsistencies that require immediate attention.
Profit Erosion: Despite high sales volume, the Profit Margin experienced sharp declines in specific periods. This suggests that high operating costs or heavy discounting are eroding profitability over time.
Channel Optimization: The breakdown of orders by retailer channel showed an uneven distribution of profitable activity. The management can now strategically re-focus resources on the highest-performing channels (Small Chain) to maximize ROI.
