The Business Problem & Goal
The primary business challenge was the lack of a unified view of profitability across diverse global markets and complex product categories. The goal was to build a dynamic tool that utilizes DAX-driven calculations to identify the most and least profitable product subcategories and sales agents (Managers) and optimize global resource allocation.
High-Value Categories Driving Income:
The Furniture and Technology categories are the primary income drivers, contributing over (Two-thirds of the total profit) ($42M+ combined).
Product Profitability Disparity:
There is an extreme income gap between subcategories; for instance, Chairs generated $8.8M, while Fasteners generated only $0.1M.
Granular Loss Identification:
The Decomposition Tree revealed that even within the highly profitable Chairs subcategory، there are specific products generating near-zero income.
Strong Growth Trajectory:
The Income by Year trend shows consistent and healthy year-over-year growth from 2016 to 2019.
Top Sales Performers:
The dashboard clearly identifies the Top 3 Sales Persons (Anna Andreadi, Chuck Magee, and Kelly Williams)، highlighting individuals whose successful sales strategies can be replicated across the global team.
