Welcome to my page about the Nissan. On here i will be showing off my whole progression of how i started the model to where i got to at the end. I will be using videos to show how i make the body of the car and then give you some screenshots of how the windows are made and little extras such as wing mirrors, tail lights, headlights and more. I will make sure to be clear enough on my explanation to ensure that you understand how difficult or easy these models can be and hopefully give you an idea of how long it can take to model these cars.
The Nissan was the second car i started to model and the first Player car to be created. I really enjoyed creating this car because it was such a simple shape. The cars themselves don't have simple shapes but compared to the others it was fairly simple to trace which helps me as i had just modelled the BMW before so that gives me some experience in this kind of modelling.
As you will notice, i have not traced over any extra parts on the car such as the windows, headlights, front grill and rear lights. This was so that it makes it easier when i want to model them later.
The images below was the beginning look to the car after i traced it. This will soon start to come together when everything starts getting added.
Filling in the gaps
moving to the windows i ended up recording what i had done so you can see how long it really takes to do small details. The windows were fairly simple to do as all i had to was trace around the frame of each window and then line them up so there is no gaps. I would then change the colour to have them all a dark grey, and that was the windows complete.
This was the final outcome of the car with all the windows added. You can see already that the car is coming together just by adding the windows. I did end up changing the colour of the car too to match the real thing as this was the most common colour of this car.
The lights
Next step was the headlights. I also recorded this one so that you can see how i modelled the lights to this car from the beginning all the way to the end. This was fairly simple to model because i ended up tracing the lights on the blueprint so that i could get the shape of the headlights in place. I then moved onto the bulbs which were very easy to model. I did this with cylinders and i just started reshaping them while looking at a real reference image to give me guidence.
Tail Lights
For the rear lights i found them extremely simple. I would first select the looped edge like the first image. I would then cap that off to fill in the gaps and to be able to colour them. When that was done the rear lights were finished. I just repainted them to give them more reality and the rear lights were done.
