Ocean started practising yoga high on a rooftop in India in 2000, with eagles circling overhead. She enjoyed exploring a variety of styles for the next decade, however discovering Vajrasati Yoga in 2010 was like an unexpected, joyful homecoming. Here, she found the deep relief of fun, joy and clarity – and a deep trust and respect for each individual’s journey and discoveries. Exciting and peaceful, all in one go!
She has now loved teaching for over twelve years - group classes including at the Brighton Buddhist Centre, Rottingdean Village Hall, on Zoom, outdoors in many locations, as well as one-on-ones.
She always hopes to teach with heart, clarity, integrity and lightness – and with a deep respect for everyone’s unique paths.
Her classes have a meditative focus, and an invitation of even the slightest bit (or a lot!) more of freedom and spaciousness in our unique bodies and lives at their heart.
Classes are based around asana (poses), which have a great deal of variations possible, which makes this kind of yoga so perfect however one is, or whatever is going on. One is always encouraged to follow one’s own energy and body, however one finds them upon dropping in that day, thus at liberty to enjoy delicious, strong dynamism, or an incredibly restful, still, gentle practice – and anything in between. Classes offer a meditative focus, and can also include more formal meditation, pranayama (awareness of one’s breath and energy) or mantra (chants).
Ocean is always happy to arrange one-on-one’s, please drop her a line at oceanamma@gmail.com, or call +44 (0)7986 124219. Private lessons are a great way to delve deeper into one’s practice, or to address something specific, with the full focus of a teacher.
Welcome!
