Securing Material

If you're like me, you probably ordered your new X-Carve with all the clamp bundles. What I quickly discovered is that any carves that are going right up to the edge of my material do not play well with clamps. The router and clamp do not play well together. Here's a very simple tip I learned from the forums and group.

Yup, it's just that easy. Double-sided tape. At first I used a lot of it on each piece thinking I needed the holding power. What I found is it really doesn't take a whole lot to hold your material in place during a carve.

Here's a link to where I get it on Amazon:

TIP: Get yourself a good scraper. Tape peels off the wasteboard easy enough, but I've found you need a good scrapper to get it off the back of your material.

Here's another way to secure your material to the waste board using masking tape and glue.
