Paint Mask

When I first started using my new X-Carve, I didn't know about paint masking. I would just carve, paint, then sand. Then I stumbled on a topic in the group and made the paint mask discovery. No going back after that. This section provides you with some tips on paint masking that will save you a lot of time.

First step is to get some of this magicical material ordered and in your shop. If you search the forums and group you'll find many different recommendations. This one, the Oracal 631 comes up often and so that's what I went with and I've been very happy with it.

You can minimize waste of your Oracal by saving the smaller cut-offs and then overlapping them on some of your smaller cuts. Works just as well as single sheet coverage.
