Review Retirement Eligibility: Familiarize yourself with the retirement eligibility requirements specific to the LSPD's retirement plan. These requirements may include a minimum age and years of service criteria.
Notify Supervisors / Captain: Inform your immediate supervisor and the appropriate departmental personnel about your intention to retire. This allows them to initiate the necessary administrative processes and prepare for your departure.
Submit Retirement Application: Obtain the retirement application form from the LSPD's Human Resources or Pension Department. Complete the form accurately and provide all required information, including personal details, employment history, and retirement date.
Attend Exit Interviews: Participate in any exit interviews or separation processes required by the LSPD. This allows you to provide feedback, return departmental property, and complete any necessary paperwork related to your retirement.
Must hold at least the rank of Officer 2
Must have been an employee for at least 3 full and complete months (must meet activity requirements for the full duration)
Must have had no action taken against retirement program
Must not have been terminated or quit. (must put in for retirement)
Pay Per week
Officers (E and S Callsigns) Are paid $15,000 per week.
Supervisors (C callsigns) Are paid $25,000 per week.
Command (B and A callsigns) Are paid $50,000 per week
