- If you need to utilize the call schedule contact, by CALLING, the designated chief resident for your assigned ED. If you do not get an immediate answer you must try to contact the other chiefs until you are able to get in contact with one of us. You will also send an email to wsuemscheduling@gmail.com with Drs. Ballester and Dr. Murray included in carbon copy
- Please notify the above personnel immediately as soon as it becomes evident you will need to miss a shift. To the maximum extent possible, the chiefs will attempt to backfill any missed shifts by moving individuals from within that block to the impacted shift prior to utilizing the call schedule.
- All call shifts, with the exception of Monday, and Tuesday as detailed below, will be 24 hours covering day, transition, and night shifts at MVH, KMC, DCH, and WPMC. We are not responsible for covering remote sites (ie MVS, Sycamore) or off-service resident
Special Circumstances
- Residents who have to utilize the call schedule will be responsible for making up that shift, either during that rotation or during their next ED block, which will be coordinated by the designated chief resident for that ED.
- Residents on ED blocks who are called in will obtain shift credit, either during that rotation or during their next ED block, which will be coordinated by the designated chief resident for that ED. If possible the resident who utilized the call schedule will work that additional shift.
- If two residents utilize the call schedule in the same 24 hour period the chief resident for that ED will be responsible for finding coverage.
- Not being reachable or capable of working a shift on your call day will come with the same repercussions as missing any other scheduled shift.
