Academic leave cannot be taken:

1. during a block where you are taking vacation

2. in the last two weeks of June 

3. Anytime during July 

4. During an off-service block

5. During ultrasound 

You must submit academic leave for approval at least three months in advance to the chiefs and Christine Reinemann, not to the program directors. 

Any leave submitted less than three months will automatically be denied.  If there are extenuating circumstances the chiefs and Christine will work with you, but waiting to the last minute or simply forgetting to submit will get your leave denied.  There are way to many moving parts in a schedule to be able to easily move things around for last minute requests.

Military residents will then have to submit leave through the military system as well once approved.
