As the old saying goes, one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Though many might consider an Equus Monarch as being grotesque/alarming, primarily for its multiple eyes and extra limbs, the creature is unbelievably affable, even amongst sentient races or predators that couldn't do it harm. Encounters with the herbivores are always pleasant, having no disapproval of being pampered, instead offering its face to those unable to reach it and acting incredibly cautious as to avoid stepping on another living creature. The beasts kindness goes even further when encountering individuals who look lost, injured, or are in peril. Although it can only digest plant matter, an Equus Monarch will consume other beings for the sole purpose of protecting and healing them within the confines of their large stomach so long as their small enough to consume while safeguarding those who have a desire to live.
Those who happened to be injured or sick and end up swallowed by the beasts will be doused by the creatures grass-smelling stomach acids before shortly after discovering their wounds beginning to gradually vanish where they are then regurgitated once at full health. If unable to swallow a person that is hurt, typically for being far too large, the beast will make use of it's long tongue, caressing their wounds as its tongue secrets a powerful healing enzyme that at first will have a burning sensation, but will ultimately leave the person well and mended.
When encountering a person that happens to be lost, the beast will also consume individuals for safe transportation, carrying them off to the nearest town or other groups of sentient-life (so long as they themselves aren't lost) and leaving them there as they seem to have a basic understanding of what is best for sentient beings to reach safety or be safe in general. Much larger individuals, on the other hand, will instead be lead back to a group or the nearest town, be it by having them follow behind the creature, or even offering individuals to mount them temporarily, provided they aren't too heavy.
Finally, Equus Monarchs will swallow individuals as a means to deter dangerous predators or imminently flee right after doing so until reaching a safe location to have the individuals released. For much larger races, one of two things will occur. If the person is light enough, the Equus Monarch will either slide under the person or grab them with its tail and mount them onto their backs then proceed to flee as quickly as possible. If unable to carry a person, instead the Equus Monarch will distract the predator by forcing the threat to chase after them, even provoking the predator if they must.
