Below, Bremen is targeted by Wooldridge's 379th crew for second time. Enemy fighters knock out part his oxygen system, and damage a tire. On landing, #1 tire blows out and he clears the runway. This is his 23rd mission.
The sites of worst damage to Lt Wooldridge's bombers. Note the routes to targets were often across The Netherlands where thousands of planes were shot down, and while many have been recovered, an unknown number of Allied planes remain unaccounted for.
