My husband, dog, and I backpacking in Washington State.
My husband and I have two dogs. We love to backpack, hike, and explore new places together during the summer. In the winter months, I like to pour myself into learning new things, reading, knitting, and making great coffee!
The dog in this photo, Winston, we brought home on the way back from our honeymoon in 2020! I spent a lot of time training him to become a therapy dog- and he has his Canine Good Citizen certificate. We trained at Annabelle's in Lansing, MI.
My husband and I graduating with our bachelor's degrees in 2022
I graduated in 2022 with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts and a minor in TESOL. During and since my undergraduate experience, I have taught in urban, rural, and suburban environments. I have almost completed my Master's degree in Ed. Tech at MSU. I currently teach 27 second graders full time in Troy, Michigan!
My classroom door the month of February, showcasing a craft about what students love about learning (in the shape of a cactus)
I love learning, and supporting my students and team to be the best learners possible. I believe learning happens best when our needs our met, there are clear boundaries set for social-emotional health, and we are given multiple ways or/and opportunities to express knowledge and make connections (prior or new!) I try to practice (and fail sometimes) this philosophy both at home and school.
