The two roads in yellow are being extended to the west (rear) of the cemetery with a cross road at the back.
May 25th 2025, we are replacing the old bent flag pole with a new one thanks to a donation from the Cheryl Brust family! The base is set in concrete and we hope it will last for many years as it is a good quality one. Donations help us keep the cemetery thriving.
At the Annual 2023 it was voted to work on the driveways. The plan is to extend the two central east-west driveways west into the new addition, making a north-south one at the west end. The work will be done by volunteers and the cost will be gravel and hauling. Included is a minor straightening of the south driveway about 18 inches to the north on the exsiting west end where it has gradually widened south into the grave lot area there. After the new roads are done, we hope to put crushed traprock on the old driveways to bring them up 6 inches. Sometime in the future we will add crushed rock to the new extensions.
Old School Steps flowerbed The cemetery grounds extend into the church yard to the south and include the old concrete steps of the 1880s Wolf Creek School. Volunteers turned it into a flowerbed in 2021

Debra Mishler Rush and her brother Michael clean up the old school steps, part of a large brush pile before this work. Sadly, Debra passed away less than a year after this photo. The flower beds are thriving and we think of them as a memorial to her.
Some Wolf Creek school kids in 1951. 3rd from the left in the back row is Sharon Harris and front row looks like Sammy (Catherine) Goulet and Sharon McClain.
The Wolf Creek School closed in 1957. Here we see the merry-go-round with the cemetery in the background. The merry -go-round center post is still standing back in the woods.
The concrete steps replaced the steps on the left side of the old school. The school started with just the front room, and then in the early 1900s another room was attached to the rear with side steps to enter. In 1917, the woods steps on the left were replaced with concrete steps -- those that remain now and are in the flower bed. This school house is facing east and the steps in the middle facing south. The cemetery would be on the right side of the building. The first building here was built in 1888, replacing a school about 1/2 mile north of this one.
