Wolf Creek Cemetery Rules
Wolf Creek Cemetery Association WCCA
The WCCA sells burial rights on WCCA owned land. A purchaser buys exclusive burial rights to a grave or lot of graves. The owner of the burial rights as listed in the WCCA records, determines who is buried in the graves. The owner of burial rights may transfer ownership to another person through a will or through a form and WCCA. There is a transfer fee of $50.
The pre-2020 cemetery graves are 4x10 feet in size, and have been sold as single graves, lots of 2, 4 or 8 graves since the Wolf Creek Cemetery Association was formed in 1938. Pre 1938 graves burials and ownership information was collected in 1938 and reflects the best available information gathered then and afterwards.
Lots that have had no burials in 99 years have burial rights for unused graves returned to the WCCA.
In 1938, lots of 16x20 were measured and marked with concrete round ground set markers at the corners of lots as of that date. Lots in the main section of the cemetery (excludes the 1980 north and the 2020 west sections) are measured using these corner markers. Many, but not all of these markers still exist.
All burials shall be dug by a person appointed by the WCCA board, cremains or traditional.
Cremains are to be enclosed in a container that includes a metal marker at the top of the container. The purpose is for locating the cremain container with a metal detector.
All graves are priced at $350 and may be used for one vault/casket burial or two cremations. Graves purchased before 1990 were for a single burial. One additional cremain may be added a pre-1990 purchased grave for $150. The purchase price includes perpetual care.
Plants, flowers and mementos must be placed in a planter above ground with one planter allowed per grave. The planter should have a single support shaft placed immediately to the south of the marker
Headstones, footstones and urns.
Mausoleums and all above ground burial urns or other structures for housing remains above ground are prohibited.
All grave markers and planters must be approved by the WCC and will be placed under supervision of cemetery personnel, and notification of stone delivery and installation must be provided by the monument company or the individual installing the stone.
Grave decorations or additions not approved by the WCCA will be removed.
If there are any questions, please contact the WCCA for more information.
One plant stand per lot inserted at least 6 inches into the earth and placed as closely to the headstone or headstonepad as possible. It will not be set in concrete. See image for preferred type.
