Crime in Wolf Creek -- 1870. William Trimmer came to Wolf Creek in 1854 or 1855 with Dr. Samuel Deneen. William is buried in the cemetery in Lot 2. He recovered from the beating by the robber and lived 8 more years before dying at age 49 in 1878. The first burial in the cemetery was William Trimmer's sister, Mrs Durlase who had come from Michigan on a visit. Another sister, Fannie Trimmer Drewery, was the first school teacher at Wolf Creek. This is according to the an 1886 history of Sterling Township. She appears to be the first burial in the cemetery in 1857.
