We have been hosting this site for over 10 years and seek to provide a convenient archive of skins, visualizations, plug-ins, older versions of WMP, and several helpful guides. Mike is the former owner of this site. At the time, he was searching for more skins and visualizations to add to WMP, but Microsoft had taken down many of the pages where they were hosted. Thus, he decided to create his own website to host them himself, so that he and many others could have easy access to things Microsoft had abandoned.
October 2, 2013: Mike first begun development on the site. He originally tried to use Webs.com for the project, but they had too many limitations and as such, could not fit his needs.
May 20, 2014: He then switched to Wix.com and started to compile the archive of skins and visualizations. Eventually, he migrated due to issues and limitations with them as well.
July 11, 2015: At this point, Mike decided to migrate once again. Now moving to Google Sites, where WMP Goodies currently lives today.

July 12, 2015: WMP Goodies finally launches. At first, it only contained a modest selection of skins and visualizations. It would not expand much until 2020, when older versions of WMP were added. By 2021, the Windows Media Player wikis were added as sister sites.

March 21, 2024: An anonymous user reaches out to Mike in order to share plans for making major upgrades to the site. While this user's name will not be mentioned for privacy reasons, it must be stated that they contributed a major overhaul to the site. Featuring a significant layout and theme update, as well adding more skins, visualizations, and plug-ins.
March 1, 2026: After nearly 2 years of inactivity, a new contributor arrived with a long-awaited fix to the notorious visualizations bug that plagued WMP for over 5 years. This user also took it upon themselves to clean up much of the site, and breath new life into the project.
