Ring Music was a music store on Harbord owned and operated by Michael McLuhan, son of Marshal. He offered me $1,300 to create his VISTA Information Package. When I arrived for payment, after it was completed, Michael asked if I would prefer to take payment in merchandise. There was a pre CBS, Fender Stratocaster on sale for $1,300. I took the guitar, straight to Arkon Electonics on Queen to trade it for a daisy wheel printer, worth $1,300.

Today, that guitar is worth $4,500 to $100,000. The printer is long gone. But, I used it to start a DTP business. With wheels of various fonts I could create text to enlarge on a copier to make posters, etc. I'm sure the printer made me at least $4,500.
