Trauma Triage Criteria

We operate a 2 tier trauma notification system:

Trauma Call – A 'Hospital Wide' response activated for patients with severe injuries and/or physiological derangement who require immediate assistance from the entire trauma team. 

Trauma Patient –  An 'Internal Emergency Department' response for patients presenting with injuries due to trauma who require early senior emergency clinician review but who do not require immediate hospital-wide response.  Specific inpatient specialties (e.g., Trauma, Orthopaedics, Intensive Care) may be involved in the subsequent care of a patient if required by the treating emergency clinician.
