There are only a few ophthalmological emergencies that are truly sight threatening. These include:
· Acute Angle Closure Glaucoma
· Penetrating Injury to the Eye
· Orbital Compartment Syndrome

For non-urgent ophthalmology reviews, give the patient a general discharge summary with your provider number and ask the patient to call the clinics to make an appointment. A handout with addresses and phone numbers of the clinics can be downloaded below.
