Cover Production
All of my Product versions/renditions will be listed on this page as well as the steps ive taken to produce them.
With the drum patternn on my cover, I used the generic Punk Rock session musician on logic pro with an altered snare, a tamborine at the beginning and at a faster 145 BPM.
Recording Bass and Guitar was done on the college campus using borrowed equipment. We managed to get it finished in a single session to a great quality. We both experimented with different distortion pedals, effects etc. And settled on a more tame sound. For the guitar, we used my friends Helix distortion pedal paired with the effects available on Logic Pro. As for the bass, I chose to stay with a more clean sound to stay kind of faithful to the original song in a way. We changed the sequence of the original song a small amount to give our own personal flair to the song as well as easier for us to play because the original has parts that seem to interject randomly.
Mixing the song was the most simple and straightforward part of my project in my personal opinion. There wasn't much need for much altering to the track we recorded outside of changing the timing and cutting the audio length in some places as well as removing the MIDI keys that helped us keep in time and find the right BPM.
This is My finished Production for my final major project.
We initially created this as a "prototype" before we create the final cover. It has everything we initially planned except for the vocals. Created on 03/4/2025. The biggest issue I have is the lack of vocals, as the vocals actually help a lot with the timing of this song. However I am very happy with how my track came to fruition. The best part about this version we made is that it is very changeable and we can easily add and take things from it to create something completely different. While I may not have time to remake this cover currently, I would love to come back and re-record it in the near future.
This is the cover art I made for my track. It features lead singer Rozz Williams of Christian death (the band I covered). I made this using Adobe Photoshop and a custom font creator for the text. I created it in the aspect ratio suitable for a cd/vinyl cover.
