I Completed my proposal, the proposal goes over what I will be doing for my FMP as well as how I will conduct my research, how I will be producing my FMP and how I will evaluate it.
Completed GANTT Chart. The GANTT chart helps me keep track of all my work as well as give me a rough outline on what I will be doing next in my project.
Chosen songs Spiritual Cramp by Christian Death and Vital Signs by Picture me Broken.
Listened and rehearsed to chosen songs, I still need to record evidence.
Set up FMP Website, added all the necessary pages and began filling them with information and documents related to my project.
Listened and rehearsed to chosen songs as well as researching the method in which they're played, Tempo, Tuning etc.
Began research on the bands that created the songs, researching about how they got their style as well as how they got to where they were.
Practicing logic pro - Experimented with making rudimentary acid house and atmospheric drum and bass. Sampling an Amen break and creating a simple beat.
Ill, no progress
This week I was going to record myself rehearsing as evidence to put on my site however I was very sick and didn't get the opportunity to make any sort of progress.
My progress in week 4 involved recording my first rehearsal/demo of the cover I will be doing as well as making sure all of my previous work is up to date such as my unit 5/6/7 work. With the week coming to a close, I rehearsed the songs further to make sure I am able to play them thoroughly throughout. On top of that, my friend started recording his guitar for my songs which I should have a recording for by the end of week 5.
This week I managed to create a rough but not final cover of the song Spiritual Cramp. This was meant to be more of a proof of concept/demo to prove that we could in fact realistically finish a full song to the highest quality.
Week 6/7 were the Easter holidays, while I didn't complete any tangible work in this time, I did practice playing my bass more and more specifically the songs Spiritual Cramp by Christian Death, Todd's ship gods and Nettie by Type O Negative and Mimic by project Aces. Mimic was a difficult song to practice as there is bass tab or any sort of tab for that matter.
The video attached is an earlier video of me practicing Wolf Moon.
This week, I focused on sorting out the graphic side of my FMP such as Posters, Covers etc. I am yet to finis the graphic design section of my FMP but it should be simple and straight forward.
I also began setting up some software at home, specifically FL Studio as I am familiar with FL Studio's layout and I can find my way around it easier. This is to start work on a side project of mine where I am making an Ambient DnB/Breakcore EP.
